Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

This week I went back to the classic Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling. Everyone has heard of Harry Potter even if you haven't read or watched the movie. The plot revolves around 11-year-old Harry Potter. Harry finds out that he is a wizard and goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When Harry goes to Hogwarts, he learns all about magic, his family, and himself. Growing up Harry slept under the stairs and treated terribly by the Dursley family. A half-giant by the name Rubeus Hagrid saved Harry. Hagrid teaches and takes Harry to the wizarding world. Here Harry goes to Hogwarts and learns about all kinds of things like potions, spells, flying, and his family.
Harry learns about how Lord Voldemort killed his parents or also known as he who shall not be named. During the school year, he learns about his role and fate of fighting Lord Voldemort and with his two best friends, Hermine and Ron, they uncover the truth. As a group, they discover the sorcerers stone and the mystery unfolds. They look for clues and go through tests to find this sorcerers stone.
Throughout the book, Harry, Hermine, and Ron grow into their characters and learn more about themselves. They also learned more about the dangers that are in the wizarding world. It has been years since I have read the Harry Potter series so I can not remember all of the details that will come next. What will happen next to Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort? What challenge will Harry and his friends come upon next? This will always be on my favorite reading list, and I know that this will not be my last time reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone!

  1. This is my ultimate favorite book series. I am glad you chose to re-read this one! It sets the stage for a very long story. Have you read all of them? The more you read, the more you find out about all the characters! What were some of your favorite parts of this book? What about it made you read it again!

  2. Hi Alissa, this is Marlee!

I absolutely love the Harry Potter series! I lost track as to how many times I have read the books! And don't even ask me how many times I have watched the movies, because I lost track of that as well!! I am glad that you chose to re-read this book! Now that you have re-read it, it makes me want to re-read the entire series again and re-watch the movies! I am sure my husband is tired of coming home to Harry Potter playing on the TV, but I think he is starting to secretly like them! Great blog post Alissa!
